[Lekooks] Family Promise in 2021

Hello All,

Hoping everyone made it through the holiday season well and I don't think I
am alone in happily wishing 2020 goodbye!  I know things will continue to
be rough for a while, but I feel like hope is on the horizon.  2020
delivered some good lessons too, I have been reminded often that little
things can mean a lot!

I want to give you a quick update on Family Promise of Waukesha County:

1.  Family Promise has continued to help families in need in the past
months.  The focus has shifted to preventing homelessness by providing
families with financial assistance with rent, utilities, food, etc....
2. The Day Center has moved to Waukesha.  A building was purchased and
remodeled to fit the needs of the organization.  It is located next to the
bus station in the City of Waukesha.
3.  The Volunteer Coordinators have continued to meet monthly to discuss
how to move ahead with the program since our model of hosting is not safe
in these times.
4.
* Family Promise has rented a two bedroom apartment and is housing a family
in that apartment. Our role as a host/support church is to provide
resources during our assigned "host" week.  This may mean financial
support, gift cards, requested products (hygiene, food, etc..), or meals.
This model is being used in other states, we are trying it out and will see
how it goes.  We can only physically house one family at a time this way,
but hope to be able to do more as we go forward.   The hope is to get back
to our rotating host model when we can safely do so.  *

I will let you know when our host week is scheduled and what supplies we
have been asked to provide.  We will also have to come up with a safe way
to collect the supplies.  I will let you know the details once I have them
