Clean Water Lobby DayWe’re hosting a Clean Water Lobby Day on Jan. 30.The three major threats to our water quality are nitrate from ag pollution, the “forever chemicals†called PFAS, and lead. Unsafe drinking water is linked to cancer, diabetes, infant brain damage, lifelong learning and behavioral problems, and many more negative health outcomes.
The legislature is in session and the water quality task force is crafting its solutions after a summer-long tour of the state. That’s why we’re headed back to the State Capitol to speak directly with the lawmakers who hold the future of our water quality in their hands. Save the date for our Clean Water Lobby Day.
WHAT: Clean Water Lobby Day
WHERE: The Madison Concourse Hotel and the State Capitol
WHEN: Jan. 30 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. (with a social hour afterward)
Transit Equity Day, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, is a collaborative effort of several organizations and unions to promote public transit as a civil right and a strategy to combat climate change.
We are choosing Rosa Parks’ birthday because she is an iconic figure among many of the civil rights era who chose the tactic of refusing to give up her seat on the bus. We want to make the connection to this act of resistance to highlight the rights of all people to high-quality public transportation powered by clean/renewable energy.
