Dear friends,

Many of you know Elizabeth Lewis, who has led workshops and worship
services at LCUUC numerous times over the years. Elizabeth is a gifted
teacher who focuses on helping people become more resilient - using stress
management, mindfulness, HeartMath, forgiveness, art - and even more
modalities.

Elizabeth and I will be offering a day-long self-care retreat at LCUUC on
Saturday, February 2, entitled, "Self-Compassion: Learn to be Kinder to
Yourself". We are limiting enrollment to 20 people, so this will fill up.
I wanted to give you all the info, in case you'd like to offer this to
yourself, or perhaps give it as a gift to someone you love. It's sure to
be an affirming and enriching experience. Please let me know if you have
any questions.
Kerry

*SELF-COMPASSION: LEARN TO BE KINDER TO YOURSELF*

*A Yoga and Meditation Self-Care Retreat*

*With Elizabeth Lewis & Kerry Duma*

Saturday, February 2, 2019 9am – 4pm $80

(there will be an hour break mid-day – please bring a lunch or you can get
food nearby)

          *Cost:* $80

When we feel compassion for others, we feel kindness toward them, empathy,
and a desire to help reduce their suffering. But often, we struggle to
offer the same compassion to ourselves. Self-compassion means offering
kindness and understanding to yourself during difficult times; it means
recognizing your inner resource of wisdom, resilience and strength, and
understanding that suffering, failure and imperfection are part of the
shared human experience. Self-compassion is not self-indulgence – it is
self-care, confirmed by research as the cornerstone of emotional health and
healing.

In this yoga and guided meditation workshop we will guide you in learning
practices that will help you cultivate self-compassion, including
breath-work, meditation, yoga, journaling; and more. All exercises
presented during the class are designed for all levels of experience –
beginners welcome!
