compassion to ourselves.  Self-compassion
means offering kindness and understanding to yourself during difficult times; it
means recognizing your inner resource of wisdom, resilience and strength, and
understanding that suffering, failure and imperfection are part of the shared
human experience.  Self-compassion is not
self-indulgence – it is self-care, confirmed by research as the cornerstone of
