[Lekooks] National Academic Decathlon

The National Academic Decathlon, in which high school students from schools across the nation will be competing for the academic national championship, will be held in Madison April 20-21. Some of you have had your kids compete in this competition at the regional, district and state levels. The top schools from each state will now be competing in the Nationals.


Esther and I have been volunteering to be proctors or judges in the in-state competitions for several years, and now that the National competition is being held in Madison, the State Acedemic Decathlon organization is responsible for lining up speech judges and timers and interview judges. If you are interested in, and willing to, serve in any of these capacities, please contact Mollie Richie ASAP at mritchie at wiad.org.

With just two weeks to go until 'game time,' I've attached important information regarding your Speech Judge Assignment on Thursday, April 20.


I would appreciate prompt acknowledgement of receipt of this email and confirmation that you've read the memo (note questions regarding the shuttle and meal).  Each volunteer's service is important to the success of this event!


While the recruiting is improving, I am still searching for 7 Speech Judges, 7 Speech Timers and 15 Interview Judges  Please continue to spread the word and have anyone interested contact me immediately.
