Subj: Reminder & Venue Change for Action vs. BLM -- LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND
NEW VENUE: MILWAUKEE THEATRE, 500 W. KILBOURN
RALLY! PROTEST! SPEECHES! SIGNS!
Thur., March 17 10am (St. Patrick's Day)
Bureau of Land Management National Auction
of drilling and fracking rights on OUR Public Land
NEW VENUE: MILWAUKEE THEATRE, 500 W. KILBOURN
The BLM is auctioning off parcels of public land located in Mississippi,
Louisiana, Michigan, and Arkansas to fossil fuel companies on March 17 in
Milwaukee. National _350.org_ (http://350.org/) has been helping organize
local protests at these auctions (Oh, heck, let's call them what they are,
sales, because it's not as if the land is ever going to be returned in the
shape it's in.) As a result, 7 of the past 10 auctions have been canceled or
postponed and moved to different sites.
NOW MILWAUKEE MUST SAY LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND!
Please plan to be there on March 17 at 10 a.m.
Here's a link to our Facebook event:
https://www.facebook.com/events/696116803825008/?active_tab=posts
If you haven't already, please sign up and say you're going (not just
"interested"); the more attendance we expect, the more likely the BLM is to
cancel the auction.
THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO TELL THE BLM TO LEAVE THOSE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE
GROUND, CURB GLOBAL WARMING, AND GIVE OUR CHILDREN A CHANCE FOR A LIVABLE
PLANET.
With hope for our future,
Terry Wiggins, 350 Milwaukee
Please forward this message to your lists, post it on Facebook wherever
you can, and talk to your friends about joining you at the protest & rally.
Lots of good speakers planned.
