Subject: LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND! -- Tell BLM, Mar. 17

PROTEST!Thur., March 17 10am (St. Patrick's Day) Bureau of Land Management National Auction
of drilling and fracking rights on Public Land. Milwaukee Federal Court House, 517 E. Wisconsin Ave. The BLM is auctioning off parcels of public land located in Mississippi, Louisiana, Michigan, and Arkansas to fossil fuel companies on March 17 in Milwaukee. These auctions are held in various sites around the country. National 350.org has been helping organize local protests at these auctions. As a result, 7 of the past 10 auctions have been canceled or postponed and moved to different sites..  NOW IT IS OUR TURN to say LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND!Please plan to be there on March 17 at 10 am.Here's a link to our Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/696116803825008/?ref=3&ref_newsfeed_story_type=regular&feed_story_type=17&action_history=null Please sign up and say you're going (not just "interested"); the more attendance we expect, the more likely the BLM is to cancel the auction.
Dear friends: We have recently learned of a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) national auction for drilling and fracking rights on public land to take place in Milwaukee on Thursday, March 17 at the Milwaukee Federal Court House, 517 E.Wisconsin Ave. The auction begins at 11am, and the bidders arrive at 10am. The land being auctioned is in Mississippi, Louisiana, Michigan, and Arkansas, and it appears it may be tribal land.
Protests at these BLM auctions to keep fossil fuels in the ground have been organized around the country by 350.org and 7 of the last 10 auctions have been canceled or postponed. The Milwaukee 350 chapter is organizing a big protest outside the Federal Courthouse on March 17 along with Stevens Point Students 350,  350 Madison and national 350.org. WE NEED YOU TO JOIN US IN THIS PROTEST. If we can get lots of social media response on this in advance with people committed to attend the protest, the BLM may cancel the auction. If they continue the auction, we can try to get access to get inside as it is a public auction. Recently over 100 people got inside the auction in Utah and disrupted it with singing and chanting. If we cannot get inside we will protest outside and get media coverage. Plans are in process for some creative action. CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR ORGANIZATION TO  JOIN US? A weekday morning is not the best time for a lot of people to show up but if we all encourage people who are available to be there or to arrange to take off of work that morning we can get a good sized demonstration. We already have over sixty people committed to be there. THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO TELL THE BLM TO LEAVE THOSE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND, CURB GLOBAL WARMING, AND GIVE OUR CHILDREN A CHANCE FOR A LIVABLE PLANET. Please let me know if you will join us in this effort and get the word out to your constituents to make a piece of climate action history! With hope for our future, Terry Wiggins,  350 Milwaukee
