SOCIAL ACTION OPPORTUNITIES
Brought to you by the LCUUC Social Action Committee
 LGBTQ Issues, Rights, and Safety
“Together We CAN Change the Narrative of Waukesha County” Workshop with Melissa Tempel on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9 at 6:30pm at the Waukesha Public Library, Conference Room 2 at 321 Wisconsin Avenue. Waukesha County has a reputation for being a community that is unwelcoming and intolerant, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Diverse and Resilient’s<https://www.diverseandresilient.org/> new staff member, Melissa Tempel, invites you to have a conversation about how we can spread inclusivity and compassion for the LGBTQIA+ community. Together, we can change the narrative of Waukesha County!
Help the Homeless
After extensive repairs to fix damages from a broken water pipe, the Emergency Overflow Shelter at 1210 Sentry Drive in Waukesha will open on WEDNESDAY JANUARY 15. Volunteers are needed to help set up the shelter, drive participants from day centers to the overnight shelter, prepare and serve meals, and provide family support at the day center – which includes things like helping with job and apartment searches and playing with the children. Go to this webpage<https://www.familypromisewaukeshawi.org/volunteer-portal> to access the Family Service Volunteer Portal and volunteer.
