Hi all
Greg and I continue to evaluate all options for his Mom who is still
hospitalized with acute encephalitis
We are wondering if anyone here has first hand experience caring for a
loved one at home who has dementia or cognitive impairment. Typically
caregivers may be helping a family member with a slowly progressive
condition like Alzheimer’s so have a chance to slowly adapt to increasing
support. We went from zero to 100 overnight and so have no real concept of
what would truly be involved in supporting her at home would truly be like.
We are also looking at Memory care (likely the plan, but want to understand
all options)
If you have first hand experience to share, please reach out to me directly
to chat. I often find it helpful to learn from others as a part of info
gathering for decision making
