Hello Concerned Citizens,

To advance our efforts to protect our precious lakes from hazardous enhanced wakes:
Please consider taking an hour out of your time TONIGHT 7-8 PM at the Genesee Town Hall (HWY 83) to let Kapenga know that we need some action. He needs to hear from us. Our voices matter; especially in person. If you are a birder, mention your concern for wake disruption of Loon nests up north. If you are a fisherman note that our spawning beds are declining due to sediment. If you are a swimmer mention the murky waters. If you love to paddle-board or kayak mention your personal safety. If you own lake property, mention your property values decreasing due to shoreline destruction and water clarity.

Senator Kapenga is President of the Senate.  Presently there are proposed Bills up for consideration.
We need to keep the momentum going statewide and locally.

Senator Andre Jaques SB 1016:

Prohibits such operation on a lake smaller than 1,500 acres, and less than 700 feet from the shoreline or from any boat, swimmer, or other water user on a lake that is 1,500 acres or larger.

Assembly Bill 656 and Senate Bill 680: (in current form it follows the boat industry guidelines)

 Would prevent wake sports from lakes of 50 acres or less and from operating within 200 feet from shore. They would also nullify more restrictive local ordinances on wake surfing.

State of Vermont's recently passed State Regulations:
Wakesports Zones: 500 feet from shore / 20 feet deep / 50' contiguous acres 200 ' wide / Home lake rule requires certified decontamination between lakes.

40 contiguous acres / 20ft / 600 ft from shore

Non profit groups working to regulate enhanced wakes: You will find good solid arguments if you visit these sites.
