Subject: Rainbowland Choir
Dear ones,
You might have seen, the Waukesha School District made national news in the last week for banning the song "Rainbowland," by Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus from a school event, yet another tragedy in the war on education going on all over. Here are more than a few links if you want to see the story.

There have been a few positive developments. Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation made a donation to an LGBTQ+ organization that provides free LGBTQ-inclusive books for classrooms. But it's unlikely that any of those books will make it to Waukesha, as anything that mentions gender or identity is now banned.
So we're going to make sure they get the message anyway by pulling together a Rainbowland Choir to sing before the next school board meeting, which will be Wednesday, April 12.
Right now we are contacting faith organizations, LGBTQ organizations, alliances, and anyone interested. If you would like to lend your voice, or your choir, or your guitar, or your music director, please send me a message, minister at uniteduuc.org. We'll coordinate.
The plan right now is to gather to sing at 5:30 pm Wednesday, April 12, at the Lindholm Administration Building, 222 Maple Ave, Waukesha, which is time/date/place for the next board meeting. We will be outside, in the parking lot, as board members arrive.
A practice session sometime before that day is in the works. Stay tuned for developments. And feel free to send this out to your own networks. Wouldn't it be cool to fill the parking lot?
Thanks for all you do,
In faith,
David
