This was our "on-partisan" Waukesha County Board deviating from its job of supervising the operations of Waukesha County and sticking its nose into state partisan politics. From the August 23 County Board meeting minutes:
Resolution 177-R-003: Resolution To Conduct Advisory Referenda On Uniformity In Election Laws And Administration Throughout The State Of WisconsinSupervisor Hammitt moved to approve Resolution 177-R-003: Resolution To Conduct Advisory Referenda On Uniformity In Election Laws And Administration Throughout The State Of Wisconsin. Supervisor Wolff seconded the motion. The Board was polled and twenty-one (21) votes were cast ‘aye’ (Supervisors Foti, Weil, Morris, Batzko, Grant, Walz, LaFontain, Michalski, Thieme, Howard, Wolff, Decker, Mommaerts, Kolb, Crowley, Meier, Enriquez, Schellinger, Hammitt, Bangs, and Johnson) and two (2) votes were cast ‘nay’ (Supervisors Nelson and Gaughan). The Resolution passed 21-2.

Let your County Board representative know what you think of this.
Gerry F.

Subject: [Lekooks] Vote NO on referenda on the November ballot

There are two referendum questions on the November ballot in Waukesha County.  If you don't read them closely, you would think that the right answer is to say Yes to these referenda, but the Democratic party of Waukesha says to vote no.  I think these questions are just trying to fuel the idea that there is voter fraud and encourage distrust in elections.
Vote for oneShould the Wisconsin Legislature prepare and place on the statewide ballot a Constitutional Amendment requiring that election administration, access to ballots, and counting of ballots be nearly uniform as practicable?YesNo
Vote for oneShould the Wisconsin Legislature prepare and place on the statewide ballot a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting non-governmental entities and any individual other than election officials designated by law from funding, managing, or performing any task in election administration?YesNo
Here's what the Waukesha Democratic party says: , "We are urging a NO vote on both referendum questions on all Waukesha County ballots. They are advisory in nature, and were put on the ballot by the Waukesha County Board. We feel they are reactionary and unnecessary.  Vote NO on both questions."
You can see what is on your ballot, including the 2 referendum questions, by going to myvote.wi.gov
