Thanks for continuing this conversation and for the link so everyone can read this important information. From this info, I can see that the manufacturer is saying that the test is reliable, 99% if done at least two days after exposure. It takes up to 72 hours to process once they receive it in their lab, after you ship it to them by ups. They recommend you request the test six days before you need the results.
So if you are quarantined for two days before and six days after you are tested, you would probably not be at risk of infecting others. And everyone else in your group would also need to follow these rules.
BUT the manufacturer is still saying you should not use a negative result to discontinue social distancing. See below.
Part of the reason the virus continues to spread is that people assume they are safe. We all have to make our own decisions about the risks of spreading the virus.
The information and options are continuing to change, so it’s good to review new options and this test is one to consider if done properly.
The good news is that the numbers of people infected and dying is gong down, although there are still about 3,000 people dying every day in our country. I am hopeful we will all be vaccinated soon. Over 8% of people are vaccinated at this point which could be better, but in the coming months we will all get a chance to be vaccinated.
Take care, Janis

>> I would say the tests, if positive can tell you that you are NOT safe to gather with friends. A negative result has a good chance of being a false negative. A positive is more likely to be reliable. The guidelines are five days of quarantine plus a test, but that is not as good as ten days of quarantine.
