Dear Interfaith Friends and Family,
Five Muslim Americans in Brooklyn and Queens, each once an immigrant and now a U.S. citizen, deal with the impact of the Muslim Ban as they are each forced to navigate what it means to be an American Muslim.
Watch the film, "American Muslim" and join the conversation with Adam Zucker and Janan Najeeb on Sept. 24th at 7pm.
Invitation to American Muslim talkback at Minority Health Film Festival Facebook page

The PIIC - Peace and International Issues Committee, 5 Tuesdays in March Series - "Truth or.... Consequences" that was suspended because of Covid-19, fufilled its last three sessions via zoom for those who had already purchased tickets. The speakers included:
George Stanley, Editor, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, regional editor of USA TODAY Network Wisconsin, and vice president of the national News Leaders Association.
Matt Rothschild, Executive Director, Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and former editor & publisher, The Progressive.
Joanne Williams, host of Milwaukee Public Television’s award-winning Black Nouveau program, former television news anchor, and past president of the Milwaukee Press Club.
Kathleen Dunn, retired host of The Kathleen Dunn Show, which was on Wisconsin Public Radio for 24 years, and member of Milwaukee Media Hall of Fame.
Paul Oren, professor in Communication Department and faculty advisor to the student newspaper at Valparaiso University, Indiana, and journalist for the Times of Northwest Indiana.
Pardeep Kaleka, Executive Director, Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee, and a clinical therapist
For good reference, and for those who missed this year's PIIC lucheon/lecture series, speaker Paul Oren gave us a link to the Cornell site that provides advice for determing fake news. https://guides.library.cornell.edu/evaluate_news/fakenews We look forward to next year's program and hope it can be in person, especially to include the delicious lunch from Aladdin. Gratitude for the inspiration and hard work from the PIIC Committee for this well attended event.
