Hello yet again kooks! This is Suzette again.
There's been some confusion around my post requesting donations to assist
my son-in-law's Honduran family after they've lost everything in the recent
hurricane Eta. (As an aside, they are facing a second one about to wreak
more havoc.)
First.. for anyone who was concerned that this was a scam, I neglected to
put my name in the last post and want to clarify that yes, I'm real and
attend LCUUC! Also I have brought my granddaughter to church on many
occasions - I'm sure you've seen her- the beautiful little girl with brown
skin and long dark hair. She tends to wear princess dresses!
It is her Honduran grandma (abuela) and aunts, uncle and cousins who have
lost everything. This is my son-in-law's immediate family.
These people are very poor on a good day. They do not have finances to
rebuild after a natural disaster. What they lost would look like very
little, and not very good, to us. It was basic day-to-day necessities.
Food, clothing, shelter. Honduras is the 2nd poorest country in Central
America with people trying to survive on less than $2 US/day.
Clarification Re: donations: In her original post my daughter gave her
Venmo account name for electronic donations. Venmo is a secure electronic
funds transfer vehicle. You go to Venmo.com and enter the account name of
the person to whom you want to send funds. (Her's is Kaja-Nunez)
I guess venmo asks also for her phone number, which was not included in
that original message. If you need that, it is
(414) 552-6976.
For anyone who wishes to donate but does not feel comfortable with Venmo,
sending a personal check is also an option. If you want to do this, you can
just send it to me and I will forward funds on to her.
My address is:

As she stated in her message, because this is not going through an official
fundraising organization, it is not tax deductible, but it will go directly
to the family in need via my daughter. If it is possible to get into the
country in the coming months, my son-in-law may make a personal Journey
there with equipment, clothing, anything he can transport to help with
recovery efforts. Until then, they are going to continue to fundraise
through friends and family here to get some money to this family.
So far they have received around $600. That's not a whole lot, but it goes
a lot farther in Honduras than it does here! This family needs absolutely
everything for basic needs right now. They literally ran from their house
with the clothes on their back, and what they could carry and a single
mattress. The flooding went over the rooftops of their entire community.
I hope that clears up any questions people have, but please feel free to
text or phone me if you want to discuss anything. If you call and aren't in
my contacts, I won't likely answer but please leave a message and I will
call you back. I just don't answer numbers I don't recognize.
Thank you so much in advance for any donation you feel you can give.
