Oh Erin, I am so, so sorry for your father's death. In these challenging times, NO ONE except a heartless monster would question your decision. From what I have heard, people are frequently not allowed inside nursing homes now, no matter what.
Sending you hugs and love.
Fran

Hi fellow quarantiners,
My father passed away yesterday morning..July 14th
I've been avoiding telling people about him being in hospice which is explained Malone
It's been very challenging since he entered hospice to have people tell me I should fly out there or I should have flown out there.....
So I just want to make it clear that it was not an easy decision to stay here.... And I'm going to explain the decision in case you have to make a similar decision before the virus goes away
Here are some of the reasons I had to decide against travel:
-- If I had gone out there I would have needed to quarantine for 14 days because I did not want to put my 90 year old mother in jeopardy.
--so, If had flown out there I would have been in quarantine and missed talking to him before he passed away
--flying really isn't safe right now ..I'm not going to go into the details...but trust me my niece works at the CDC
--the funeral homes mortuaries etc are very limited in how many people can come visit and there is a two week wait for a cremation....( Which means I would have had to fly back before the burial)
And here is a very surprising unknown:
The transformer outside my house was hit by lightning (warriors were sparking and up the road at least a quarter of a mile) and I had to evacuate .....
if I had been in California, there's a good chance the house would have burned down and there would have been no one to call inthe fire since
Summary
A storyteller recently told about going to see her dad before he died and I almost shut the zoom concert off because it was too painful ...but then she mentioned her brother whose wife was giving birth and couldn't come to be with her father......It was at that moment I felt peace in my heart with my decision because there are a million different reasons why we can't sometimes be with the person we love at the end.....
Thank you for reading this (if you did) and for understanding....
My prayer and hope is that you never have to make a decision like this ...and that if you do people do not question you
Be safe... be healthy
With love
Erin Johnston

Hi everyone!
Is the 19th okay then? I could switch it to the 26th. It looks like I will be able to attend that day.

Thank you Sarah Beth
My internet has been down for a few days and I'm not sure if it'll be down as well on that day I'm wondering if there's a way to phone call into the session?
I'm also looking for libraries nearby where I can sit next to their Wi-Fi

I propose we have our next Story Coaching on Sunday July 16, 2- 4 pm.
Our Doodle poll suggests that July 16 will accommodate the most tellers who can definitely make it (Erin, Sarah Beth, Paul, and Elizabeth). July 26 has the most responses (Erin, Paul, and Elizabeth can definitely make it; Coral and Sarah Beth are maybes). However, Coral has said she thinks it quite likely she won't attend in July, I'm inclined to say we should go with July 16. However, I am open to hearing other opinions or if situations/calendars have changed for anyone.
