*Feeling the need to Get out the Vote?? Join us for a Vote Forward Letter*
*Writing Party ** (actually it's just one sentence that you add to a
printed letter)* *this Friday at 6 pm*. We will meet at the Lapham Peak
Mike Fort Shelter (near the Homestead Hollow parking lot). The shelter has
5 large picnic tables where we will socially distance (1 pod/table, or 2
folks/table, so a maximum10 people) and wear masks when we are not sipping
a beer, wine or whatever. The goal will be to each add our sentence to 20
letters (takes about 1 hour) while we also share time with other cool folks
committed to Saving our Democracy! I'll bring the pre-printed letters and
envelopes. May want to wear long sleeves and pants and bring bug spray. *Please
RSVP to Phil at psmithw318 at gmail.com <psmithw318 at gmail.com> so we can stay
within our 10 people limit.*

Below are more details for those new to the Vote Forward campaign.

*LCUUC Vote Forward Campaign Details*

- Vote Forward targets people that are traditionally under-represented
registered voters, have not voted for several elections, and are located in
critical swing states like Wisconsin.
- Sign up on the Vote Forward website https://votefwd.org/, download
letters in groups of 20, print them out, complete each letter by adding a
sentence on why it's important to vote, sign it, address an envelope, seal
the letter inside, stamp and wait until October 27 (likely to be moved up)
to mail it. Each 20 letters take about 1 hour to complete.
- No Printer? Let me know how many letters you can write and I will print
them out and get them to you.
- For those who would like help with postage, let me know how many stamps
you need and I'll get them to you.

Does it really work? In a controlled study, 3.4% more of
those receiving letters voted compared to the control group. That's 340,000
more voters in critical swing states like Wisconsin if Vote Forward meets
their goal of 10 million letters (currently at 3.9 million). It does make a
difference!

New letter writers, please let me know how many letters you've written so I
can track our progress.
