[Lekooks] New front entrance

Now  we have our new front entry at LCUUC, the way the locks work is very different from the way it was (and the way the back door still is):

The key is the same key as before, and still works for both doors.

To unlock the front door, insert and turn the key while pulling on the door handle. The key no longer keeps the door unlocked, so when you remove the key, if you let the door close you will still be locked out.

Press the lever on the inside of the door(s) under the door window(s) to get out. You still cannot be locked in, as with the old door.

To unlock the front door(s), press the lever on the door under door the window, and insert the hex key into the hole in the lever, turning it until it clicks. The  bar will now be locked in the IN position, and door is now unlocked from the outside. Note that each of the two doors has its own push bar which can be locked or unlocked independently of the other.

The door with the automatic opener must be unlocked (push bar in the IN position) for the actuator to work.

The doors can be locked by inserting the hex key in the hole in the push bar and turning it until the push bar returns to the OUT position.

Whoever is last to leave the building should ensure that both doors are locked, with the push bars in the OUT position.

I think this new arrangement is very inconvenient, and will be bringing it up with MSI to see if it can be improved. I will also be asking about a doorbell (since our old doorbell signal is blocked by the porch frame metal), keypad lock, and door stops.

Thank you for your patience,

Gerry Flakas
