 The success and survival of Milwaukee lies in the rivers that meander through its streets and the great lake at its shore.In Milwaukee: A City Built on Water, celebrated historian John Gurda expands on his popular Milwaukee PublicTelevision documentary. Telling tales of brewers, brickmakers, ecologists, and engineers, Gurda explores the city's complicated connection with its most precious resource and greatest challenge. John Gurda is a Milwaukee-born writer and historian, author of 21 books including histories of Milwaukee-area neighborhoods, churches, and industries. He is also a photographer, lecturer, and local history columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Boswell Books will have books available for purchase. The event is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. Youth Food Conference

 1:00-2:00pm Clean Up

The Waukesha County Green Team has a variety of educational displays on environmental sustainability topics. These displays are available for checkout on a first come, first served basis. Each display:
Covers a specific topic area of environmental sustainability

Is designed to stand alone or can be set up with other displays

Has a take-away flyer with simple actions for making change.

Is designed to be indoors on a display table.
