 Senator Kapenga's E-Update View this email in your browser   Holiday Events In Your Area!  2018 State Capitol Christmas Tree
 As we approach Christmas and the New Year, there are many family-fun events taking place around Waukesha County. Here is a list of some happenings around you!
 
 Nov. 30: Hartland Lights - This is Hartland’s Official Tree Lighting with Santa in the Village Center, which takes place at 6:30 pm. The entire event runs from 6-9 pm with trolley rides and business specials.
 
 Nov. 30: Sussex Tree Lighting - Tree will be lit at 6:00 pm at the Sussex Civic Center.
 
 Dec. 1: Pewaukee Tree Lighting - The event run from 2-5 pm with the tree lighting at 5:00 pm.
 
 Dec. 4: Village of Merton Tree Lighting - Tree will be lit at 7:00 pm at the Village Hall.
 
 Now thru Dec. 31: Country Christmas - Wisconsin's Largest Outdoor Drive-Through Lights Display, located at The Ingleside Hotel off I-94 in Pewaukee.
 
 Dec. 7: The 20th annual Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will light up the tracks once again, with a stop in Hartland at 5:45 pm and Oconomowoc at 6:55 pm. Each stop lasts 30 minutes and includes a holiday light show and free live music. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a donation of food to benefit local food pantries in their community.
 
 Dec. 7: North Lake Tree Lighting - Tree will be lit at 6:30 pm. Come visit Santa and his reindeer!

  Wisconsin's 2018 gun deer-hunting season was the safest on record According to the Department of Natural Resources, the 2018 Wisconsin gun deer season set a record for hunter safety. Close to 600,000 hunters purchased a license to enjoy the annual nine-day tradition with friends and family. Only three non-fatal shooting injuries were reported, an all-time best for Wisconsin.   Breaking Down Barriers Award   Eric Bott of Americans For Prosperity presents Senator Kapenga with 'Breaking Down Barriers' award Last week, I was honored to receive the 'Breaking Down Barriers' award from Americans For Prosperity in recognition for leading passage of comprehensive welfare reform and occupational licensing reform last session. These bills focused on increasing access to work and eliminating the barriers to employment that so many people struggle with.   Today in History For Friday, November 30th, 2018
