Thanks Liz, We have been fans Anthony Bourdain from the time he wrote Kitchen Confidential as well. We have watched his CNN program since it began. Thanks for the heads up, it was a wonderful show and a fitting tribute.

Hi everyone,
Shortly after it came out I read Kitchen Confidential (published 2000) and have been an Anthony Bourdain fan ever since. He was one of my favorite-people-I-don't-actually-know. His ability to understand and reveal cultures was uncanny. I’ve spent the last ten days re-watching his shows and shows about him. I'm mad there won't be more of his work, confused about why he had to go and sad. If you're not familiar with him or why he is so well revered these articles and Anderson Cooper’s tribute offer insight.

CNN is showing a special, Remembering Anthony Bourdain, at 8 Eastern / 7 Central tonight followed by one of the two as yet unaired Parts Unknown episodes. It’s on the Cajun, less well known Mardi Gras. Next week will be the last episode, it’s on Bhutan.
Many full episodes of Cooks Tour, No Reservations and Parts Unknown (his TV shows chronologically) are available on YouTube. Truly if you’re traveling in the US or the world you should see if he’s made a show on the place and watch it before you go. Remarkable shows everyone should see are from Iran, Haiti, Hanoi, Israel, Puerto Rico and two from Beirut. He’s also done episodes on Berlin, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Lagos, the Congo, Las Vegas and Charleston (where he watched minor league baseball with Bill Murray and learned of Waffle House).
Some of his quotes.

Perhaps like no one else he saw and allowed himself to experience the vastly different lives and struggles of the people on this planet. Perhaps the knowledge of that difference simply became too much for him.
Take care, of yourself and others,
Liz
