Greetings, Friends of Wisconsin Poor People's Campaign, Will you join our next event on Monday June 4 in Madison on "The Right to Health and a Healthy Planet"?
For those not familiar, click for more information about the Poor People's Campaign. I'll be leading the event, and I have some excellent speakers and singers lined up.  Our focus will largely be on our water in Wisconsin.  Planning for action after the rally is still underway.  Plan to use your voice, too.
Some details:We will meet at Grace Episcopal Church, 116 W. Washington Ave., at 12:30PM to prepare, then walk to the State Capitol across the street at 1:50 pm for the Rally at 2 pm. The area of the capitol is located between Carroll Street and West Washington Avenue. There will be food available.
Parking:  There is no parking at the church.  There are a very limited number of short term parking stalls (an hour or less) on the Capitol Square.  Visitors parking on the square should be certain that they are not parking in a reserved stall. For most visitors, one of the city operated ramps in the downtown area is the best option; the City of Madison has more information.
Bring signs and banners if you can; we'll also have many.

Further information:

The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival has developed a detailed Moral Agenda Based on Fundamental Rights that would revive the efforts of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others for a “revolution of values” in America. This agenda includes demands on the federal and state governments to:
ï‚· Â Ensure the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share of urgent social needs, including decent and affordable housing, quality education and health care, safe and affordable water, and job creation.

ï‚· Â Protect voting rights and prohibit racist gerrymandering, hiring, policing, and sentencing policies that exacerbate inequalities for black and brown people.

ï‚· Â End military aggression, ban the proliferation of guns, and demilitarize our communities on the border and the interior.

ï‚· Â Ensure the right to clean water, air, and a healthy environment and increased public investment in jobs programs to transition to a green economy.
