The U of Chicago is offering a free electronic book on economic inequality and I am guessing there may be a few of you that would appreciate the topic. Hopefully the link in the forwarded message will work. They do require your email address to allow you to download the book and they will send monthly links to the next ebook when it is available. I imagine they would also appreciate the use of the 20% off offer on one of the books in their 'for pay' catalog (see code below).

Like climate change, economic inequality is a global issue: the global 1% now owns fully half the world’s wealth. In our free e-book for June, The Political Origins of Inequality: Why a More Equal World Is Better for Us All, Simon Reid-Henry rewrites the usual story of globalization and development as a story of the management of inequality. Reaching back to the eighteenth century and around the globe, The Political Origins of Inequality foregrounds the political turning points and decisions behind the making of today’s uneven societies. Get the e-book of The Political Origins of Inequality free in June. “Reid-Henry has mapped the terrain of our current political landscape with frightening accuracy. From this cartography, he points the way forward: we need a politics that prioritises social prosperity over economic growth.”—Times Higher Education, Book of the Week |
