Action Needed to Support Immigration Rights

The *LCUUC Green Sanctuary Committee* has been working on
Environmental/Social justice projects with SOPHIE of Waukesha County.
Please review and if you agree sign the petition as requested.

Petition in Opposition to Wisconsin
Assembly Bill 190/ Senate Bill 275 Our immigrant brothers and sisters are
constantly being targeted. This legislation would have public employees and
local law enforcement act like Immigration agents. SOPHIA's Immigration
Task Force has been working on this issue - signing this petition supports
our immigrant brothers and sisters. Let your local and state officials know
that we stand in solidarity with the immigrant community.

SOPHIA and other community partners will be collecting all names and
presenting these signed petitions to your legislators. *PLEASE SIGN BY
Friday, July 21, 2017*, to insure timely delivery.

*Whereas* the John Spiros' discriminatory, anti-immigrant bill AB 190, and
SB 275 will make our communities less safe and more prone to racial
profiling by having local law enforcement act like immigration agents, and
*Whereas*, AB 190/SB 275 would make victims and witnesses of crime and
domestic violence survivors afraid to report crimes which makes us all less
safe, and
*Whereas* AB 190 /SB 275 would potentially force local government employees
to interrogate community members about their immigration status or have
municipal revenue sharing funds withheld by the State of Wisconsin, and
*Whereas*, AB 190, will disrupt our Wisconsin economy, and cause immigrant
workers, homeowners, and business owners to leave according to the American
Immigration Council,
*Therefore*, we as people of faith committed to building a fair, just
society and economy based on respect, cooperation, fair wages, and safe
working conditions, and, oppose the passage of this anti-immigrant bill.
