[Lekooks] May 1st Day of Action - March and Rally for Immigrant and Worker Rights

I'm going and would love to carpool but 11:30 seems a little late, it
starts at noon, is that really when you're going to leave?

And here's a fact sheet on ICE's 287g program to "deputize" local LEO's to
enforce federal ICE mandates.

https://www.ice.gov/factsheets/287g

I think we need to consider county and city employees being directed by a
federal agency, as in 287g, more closely. It raises an important
fundamental question about how our government operates with implications
far beyond this one application and no one (media) seems to be addressing
that.

For me this march is both for justice for immigrants and workers and
against a precedent setting overreach of the federal government. That's why
I'm going to march in my Guy Fawkes mask as V. That and I'm skipping work
and don't want to end up in the background of a news story. :-)

And justice for all,
Liz
