Are you interested in bringing forth a thriving, just, sustainable world with us? Check out GenUp!
The Generation Waking Up Experience (or the “WakeUp” for short) is a 3 hour interactive, multimedia, peer-led workshop, that empowers young people to wake up to a clear sense of identity and purpose, as members of a generation-wide movement for a thriving, just, sustainable world.
Through inspiring multimedia presentation, dynamic group interaction, and engaging dialogue, the WakeUp takes participants through a transformative exploration of the critical questions facing young people and society today.

To build a “Movement of movements” large enough to shift the course of history, we must empower countless young people to lift their peers out of apathy, despair, and powerlessness, and connect them with the groundswell of consciousness and social change that is emerging. This is why the WakeUp is needed, and needed now.
By hosting the WakeUp experience, you are not simply putting on an isolated event: rather, you are at the very heart of Generation Waking Up, a global campaign to ignite a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, sustainable world.
Is your congregation interested in learning more about Food, Faith and Farming Network and the Winter Markets and Meals program?

The Food, Faith and Farming Network is a faith-based organization working to bring forth earth stewardship, economic justice, community and spirituality around issues related to agriculture and food in Wisconsin. The Winter Markets and Meals program seeks to help local farmers and producers sell their products and generate income during the winter months and, where possible, gather congregation members around a delectable meal, made with local and sustainably-produced foods. The program also seeks to educate community members about the importance of buying local and sustainably-raised products. The meals are prepared by food-savvy members of congregations using savory local foods, or by local chefs. Winter Farmers’ Market vendors are asked to donate 10% of their proceeds to the Harvest of Hope Fund, a faith based farm crisis fund.

A gathering of coordinators of congregations currently scheduled to participate in the Markets and Meals Program is scheduled for Sunday, September 25th, from 1 – 3 pm at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, 1725 N. 54th St., Milwaukee. At this meeting, we will discuss past market practices and successes and share ideas for future success. We invite any congregations who are interested in learning more about Food, Faith and Farming Network and the Winter Markets and Meals program to join us. Lunch will be served, so please RSVP by September 18th to lsheridan726 at gmail.com if you are interested in joining us, or just have questions. Thanks!
