Thank you Barbra Begal and Gerry Flakas for spearheading the successful passage in the city of Delafield of the resolution for an amendment to change the SCOTUS Citizens United decision that has led to so much dark money influencing government in our nation.  If your community has not yet put forth this resolution on a ballot, please consider doing so.


Again, thank you so much Barbra and Gerry.  You are glowing examples of how we can work to keep our democracy safe.

Overturn Citizens United - Money in Politics

Our successes at the ballot box continue to grow. Eighteen more communities had our referendum on their ballots and they passed with approvals averaging 85% -- Rock County (86%), Reedsburg (86%), Manitowoc (81%), Delafield (79%), Neshkoro (88%), New Glarus (88%), Spring Valley (91%), Osceola (86%), Mt. Horeb (84%), Monticello (86%), Clayton (86%) and the towns of New Glarus (83%), Harris (65%), Springdale (86%), Decatur (89%), Mount Pleasant (84%), Cadiz (87%) and Lake Tomahawk (91%).

That brings the total to 95 Wisconsin communities<http://www.unitedtoamend.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=636&qid=86900> that have called for an amendment. In total, 2.7 million people (46% of Wisconsinites) live in these jurisdictions. Across the country, 18 state legislatures<http://www.unitedtoamend.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=637&qid=86900> have voted for an amendment, as well as over 700 towns, villages, cities and counties<http://www.unitedtoamend.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=638&qid=86900>.
