Book Discussion, Room #4
Please join Chris Prange-Morgan and Christina White for a book
read/discussion group of Atul Gawande's "Being Mortal: Medicine and What
Matters in the End".
Dr Gawande is a general surgeon/writer/public health researcher.
"Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End" was released in
October 2014. It discusses end-of-life choices about assisted living and
the effect of medical procedures on terminally ill people, and challenges
many traditionally held notions about the role of medicine. Dr Stephanie
Gilbertson-White, Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, will be
with us on 11/13. Her expertise is in the field of palliative care and
cancer survivorship.
"Being Mortal: And What Matter in the in End" is available in book stores
and on-line for approximately $12. Suggested donation for the class: $5.
We and our families will all be faced with end-of-life decisions. Have you
given it thought? Have you talked it over with your loved ones? This may
jump start those conversations. Christina White: christina.h.white at gmail.com
