 "on the critical need for people of faith to know Wisconsin’s inspirational water heritage and to add their voices in safeguarding the waters we all depend upon"
 
 Jane Elder is Executive Director of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, where she oversees its nonpartisan.
 Waters of Wisconsin (WOW) initiative.
Plus a parting challenge from
 Ralph Hollmon
 retiring President/CEO of the Milwaukee Urban League,
 regarding the city’s social issues

 Ralph Hollmon
 For his leadership at the Milwaukee Urban League in helping thousands of young African Americans and others make strides towards economic self-sufficiency, fuller participation in society, and greater civil rights.
 
 Rev. Herbert Huebschmann Urban Ministry Award
 (Presented this year by the Rev. Huebschmann’s widow, Viv)
 Friedens Community Ministries
 For their work as a network of Milwaukee pantries providing food, building ladders of peace, and fostering hope and dignity. Begunn the 1970s at Friedens UCC, it is one of the urban ministries with roots in the former church, where the late Rev. Huebschmann served as pastor.
 
 Mark Rohlfing Memorial Award
 Ruth Silver
 For helping people with dual-sensory loss lead independent, productive lives as founding director of Center for Deaf-Blind Persons, Inc. Silver is author of Invisible: My Journey Through Vision and Hearing Loss.
Youth/Young Adult Leadership Award Zeynab Ali
 For leadership with Serve2Unite, the Milwaukee Youth Council, and as founder/chair of Inspirational Impact, an anti-humantrafficking youth group. She is a Kenyan/ Somali refugee, a Rufus King High School student, author of a book on her life journey, and attends prayer services at the Islamic Society of Milwaukee’s main center.
Chardhi Kala 6K Run/Walk
 For celebrating diversity, promoting unity and raising funds for area-wide scholarships. Organized by youth from Serve2Unite, this annual run/walk is in memory of six people who were slain by a white supremacist
 at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple.
