Hi everyone,

Just when a very successful and caring week of Family Promise comes to a close, our turn to help with the Bread of Life dinner is coming around, on Thurs., May 26. But that's alright, this is what we do for our community!

This is like an area-wide "Happy Meal," because the guests (100-120) are mostly seniors and shut-ins, who enjoy the opportunity to socialize as much as for the food. It's a big deal to get out for a fun evening!

Details:

*6-7 volunteers needed.
*We team with, once again, our friends from Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church.
*This time, KMUPC is planning the menu and preparing all the food (with one exception, below). We will arrive about 4:30 to help finish the set-up, serve the food, and be responsible for the clean-up.
*Doors open for coffee at 4:30, dinner is served at 5:30. Clean will be much easier this time because we have elected to use American flag themed paper plates in honor of Memorial Day.
*We're usually all done around 7:00PM.
*Food prep exception: We are responsible for half of the dessert, or 6-7 dozen cupcakes. Does LCUUC still have a baking group? If we don't, and members don't volunteer to bake them, we can buy them. We all know home made is best (-:

Personal note: I'll be traveling after May 20, and will have to miss this one. Is anyone willing to step in for me, to help coordinate? It'll be easy, most arrangements / work will already be done, we just need a contact person for last-minute details, to coordinate with Phyllis Warden at KMUPC.

Please respond directly to me, before May 18.

Big thanks to all the caring members of LCUUC,
All love,

Bill L.
