Here is one other really important number. The US has at least 85 major manufacturers of guns compared to just a handful in most other countries.
So it is greed. Greed drives gun sales and it drives the US to be the military arsenal of the world. In my opinion, war is shifting to drones and planes so gun manufacturers are targeting a new audience, consumers!
Regarding the military arsenal of the world. Who is the US’s number one customer? Saudi Arabia, who regularly bombs innocents in Yemen and fuels the wars in the middle east.
Face it, guns and war are big business and the US of A is the arsenal of the world.
Regardless of what ever US politicians preach, the $, the guns and the weapons tell the real story.

And by incessant propaganda to mislead the public, and more importantly, our "representatives", including the Supreme Court. How can the 2nd Amendment, which begins with "A well regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state..." be interpreted that any yahoo can bring a rapid-fire large magazine weapon wherever he/she pleases unless specifically prohibited (eg by our church), is truly amazing.
I think the saying, "If you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t" applies here.

How? By contributing large sums of money to their campaigns. A list of the recipients and the amounts are online, including our very own Ron Johnson (R-Wis.): $615,681.
Just a coincidence?

Some statistics:
US population 321 million
Number of guns in the US 300 million (approx.)
% of Americans owning guns 34%, or about 110 million
% of Americans not owning guns 66%, or about 212 million
Number NRA members 5 million (approx.), or about 1.5% of the population and 4.5% of gun owners.
No how can an organization representing 1.5% of the population, and less than 5% of the gun owners, control the elected government of (all of) the people?
Just wondering...

Watch the news, members of House of Reps staging a sit in until a sensible gun law passes. Unprecedented. Call your Representative! It's time to act!
