Family Promise Needs Your Support!   Dear Friend of Family Promise, Summer is here, the heat is on, and Family Promise is moving through its second year in high gear!  Since February, thirteen families consisting of 39 family members have come through the program with an average stay of 77 days.  A total of 3,000 overnight stays and 3,000 hot dinners have been provided along with over 2,700 grab 'n go breakfasts.  All of this was made possible through the work of hundreds of our church volunteers donating over 4,300 hours of their time.  Of the thirteen families that have passed through our doors since February, three families currently remain in the program (with an additional family scheduled to come in this week), eight families were placed in apartments with sufficient income and benefits to maintain their households, and two families were placed in other housing programs. Tawny, and her two kids, Christian and Autumn, are a good example.  Tawny came into the program pregnant, evicted from her apartment, with more bills than she could pay and two school-aged kids.  After three months at Family Promise, while working two jobs, learning how to better manage her finances and qualifying for some rent assistance, Tawny was able to move back into an apartment in Oconomowoc where she now lives with her kids and her new baby boy Zachary!  Family Promise supporters also provided them with furniture, household items and lots of love!  Life isn't perfect, but Tawny and her kids are making it on their own thanks to your support. Will you help us to continue providing for families like Tawny's?  Our weekly financial needs are significant, whether it's running the Day Center at capacity seven days a week, operating our daily shuttle bus, providing guidance and counseling to all these families, networking with service providers or managing all these moving parts.
