Dear Lekooks,
Common Ground's "*Milwaukee Neighborhoods Now"* campaign had a positive
impact on voting in Milwaukee. If you'd like to continue to be involved
with this campaign, the next planning meeting will be on Monday, May 9
from 7-8:30pm at UU Church West in Brookfield.
Common Ground has also invited us to attend an Open House on "Vision 2050".
The Southeast Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission has a long-term
proposal for the future of our region that is weak on low-income, no-income
and/or workforce housing. Dennis Briley, our Common Ground liaison
says "There
is some vague language that speaks to this issue and it encourages locating
housing and jobs adjacent. But, nothing encourages spreading low-income
housing equitably throughout the region. When you attend, it would be good
to have your take on this aspect of the issue."
If you can attend, it is this Monday, May 2 between 6-8pm at Capitol Drive
Lutheran, 5305 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee. You can review the Final
Proposed Plan, provide comments and leave when done.
