[Lekooks] Wisconsin Amendment to Overturn the SCOTUS Citizens United Ruling

Dear Friends,


Approximately 71 municipalities in Wisconsin have gathered enough signatures in their jurisdictions to petition the State legislature to place a referendum on Wisconsin's November ballot.  A City of Delafield group, led by Barbra Begale, will be collecting signatures May 1 through June.  While the signatures must be only those of residents of the City of Delafield, others may help gather signatures.  Our next meeting will be at the Delafield Library, 500 Genesee St., from 5pm to 7pm.  The space there is very limited so please let me know if you plan to attend.  The link below will give you information on the exact reading of the referendum.  I believe the UUA has recently adopted a similar resolution.  For those concerned about posting a political item on Lekooks, Rev. Amy said it was okay.  This is a non-partisan issue which will stop large sums of money from influencing the entire political spectrum. If enough state legislatures can be convinced, we can overturn the ruling.
