The Social Justice Committee is working to determine how we at LCUUC can
affect economic inequality in our area. Tomorrow after the worship
service, we will present the third class in our 5-session series on
Economic Inequality - "*Advocating for a Fair Minimum Wage*", presented by
Bud and Sara Hudson. All are invited to attend. The class is 11:30 -
1:00. Bring a bite to eat.
Here's an overview:* The right to a living wage is a central pillar of the
UU Service Committee's economic justice work. It has been nearly 6 years
since the minimum wage has been raised. Millions of full-time employees
make $7.25/hr, or $15,080/yr, well below the poverty line for a family of
3. This workshop focuses on income inequality and what we can do about it.
It is based on the UUSC “Choosing Compassionate Consumption” course.*
Suggested donation to LCUUC $5.
