This means that for a small amount of money, we can increase the number of people who see our post to around 10 times the number of viewers we'd reach if we didn't boost.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><div><div class="ydp6e53c4eyiv2403236105x_ydp9218e59ayiv7038388770ydpd8479f4ayahoo-style-wrap" style="color: rgb(38, 40, 42); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;" dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">While it's great for LCUUC that a lot more people are becoming aware of us, boosting our social media presence has also created an unpleasant side effect - it's drawn out the Christian snark spewers to pepper us with nasty comments on our posts.</div><div class="ydp6e53c4eyiv2403236105x_ydp9218e59ayiv7038388770ydpd8479f4ayahoo-style-wrap" style="color: rgb(38, 40, 42); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><br clear="none"></div><div class="ydp6e53c4eyiv2403236105x_ydp9218e59ayiv7038388770ydpd8479f4ayahoo-style-wrap" style="color: rgb(38, 40, 42); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">I've noticed that there have been several responses to these from our people, which I would suggest is a <b>very </b>bad idea, for the following reasons:</div><div class="ydp6e53c4eyiv2403236105x_ydp9218e59ayiv7038388770ydpd8479f4ayahoo-style-wrap" style="color: rgb(38, 40, 42); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><ul><li>For one thing, nothing we say will change their minds. They have no interest in understanding our point of view.</li><li>Also, our responding will only make them more hostile. Taken to an extreme, it could cause them to take action against us in the real world.</li><li>Finally, what they're really looking for with their comments is to "get" us - a similar concept to "owning the libs." By responding, we show that they have.</li></ul></div></div>As a result, I beg each of you to turn a deaf ear (eye?) to their hostile responses to our social media posts. Let them stew in their own juices. As is well known in psychology, the best way to stop a behavior is to not reward it.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">With deep appreciation,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Mike McNett</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">President, LCUUC Board of Trustees</div><div><br></div><div class="ydp321f18f2signature"><p>Nehru to Gandhi, on his deathbed: <em>"Mahatma, in your lifetime, you have turned the world utterly upside down.
