Although I can't answer your question, I DO have a piece of advice ~~
contact the U.W. extension office for expert suggestions. They regularly
have people on WPR answering lawn and garden questions, and I'd be
willing to bet that they have someone who can answer yours.<br><br>

After years of poor production and pillaging racoons, we finally have a
good crop of Bartlett pears on our tree. Problem is they are still hard
and refusing to ripen. We have read various advices on ripening pears
including (1) pick them when they are still hard and refrigerate them,
and (2) pick them when they are still hard and DON'T refrigerate them but
put them in a paper bag a room temperature. When we were kids we both had
pear trees at home and picked them ripe off the tree.<br><br>
Any of you have experience with pear trees and when to pick the pears and
get them to ripen?<br><br>
