Hi all,
I realize that not everyone is in a good place financially, and I'm
hoping those folks will just ignore this.
So, call me crazy, but I don't really need the "stimulus" check
the feds are planning to send to many of us. I've said all along that
they should target those funds to food banks, homeless shelters, state
unemployment funds, etc.
I suppose I can just donate what I don't need to charity, but I keep
thinking that we, as a congregation, could set up a fund (sort of like
our capital campaign) and use the money locally (SE Wis.) to help those
who have been hardest hit financially.
Anyone out there see merit in this idea? If so, would the social action
committee handle the collection and distribution of funds?
thanks, and best wishes for good health,
