<p><span style="font-size:large;"><span style="font-family:Arial;">The last week of June is going to be an important one for WISDOM. That week, WISDOM will host what might be the biggest National Leadership Training in the history of the Gamaliel network, and we will launch yet another major justice initiative.</span></span><br>
<span style="font-size:large;"><span style="font-family:Arial;"><br>
Gamaliel <b>“Weeklong Training” </b>is considered to be among the very best community organizing training programs in the country. It is an intensive week, imparting not just skills, but the attitudes and disciplines needed to build community and to become a powerful leader in the public arena. Our goal is for more than 60 of the projected 200 participants to be from Wisconsin.</span></span></p>
<p><b><span style="font-size:large;"><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;"><span style="font-family:Arial;">June 23-29<br>

The June training this year will feature one “room” (a cohort of 30-35 people who remain together for the week) in which all the training will be in Spanish. Another “room” will be reserved just for people with conviction histories (EXPO members). We hope to have significant numbers of Wisconsinites in each of those rooms, as well as in the other three training rooms that are projected. <br>

<b>If you are a leader, or a potential leader, and you are interested in taking this next step, contact a local WISDOM affiliate or EXPO group, or contact the WISDOM office.<br>

On the Thursday evening of Weeklong Training (June 27), we will mark the official kick-off of the <b>“Unlock the Vote” Campaign</b>. “Unlock the Vote” will be a WISDOM campaign led by EXPO, with the goal of restoring voting rights to the 60,000 Wisconsinites who have completed their prison sentences but are still on “extended supervision.” We want people who are working, paying taxes, and raising their families to have a chance to take on their civic responsibility of voting and being full members of our communities.<br>

Weeklong training costs about $700 per person, mostly for room and board. We are lucky that this June our travel costs will be minimal. <i>If you are able, I would ask you to consider making a donation to help one of our low-income members to be able to attend this year.</i> The best investment we can make in the future is an investment in the empowerment of good people who can become difference-makers.<br>
