Many small gifts from Unitarian Universalists across our MidAmerica Region add up to thousands of dollars in grants that we can make to our congregations for growth-related projects. The program works because about 2,000 people in our region have agreed to send in their small gift ($20 or more) three times a year. </span></div><div><span> </span></div><div><span>For this fall that is just ending, our email system tells us that only 361 people opened the Chalice Lighter Fall Call letter that was emailed to 1,132 people. Of those, 101 made donations online. We know that about 200 of the remainder are people who make an annual donation that we split among three calls per year, and some mail their checks in. However, at this time, the total in donations is about $11,000 and we usually get somewhere in the $17,000-$23,000 range in total donations. </span></div><div><span> </span></div><div><span>This means we won't be able to come anywhere close to granting the amounts that were requested by the congregations selected for our Fall Call.
